Seco Tools, LLC recently expanded its Highfeed series of indexable-insert milling cutters to include the Highfeed 2 and 4. The latest cutters feature new insert designs combined with more teeth per diameter to achieve high speeds and feeds when processing hard and tough workpiece materials.
Modig Machine Tool of Virserum, Sweden, has announced the signing of a multi-year agreement with SECO Tools for development of next generation machine tools.
Seco Tools, LLC collected 15 percent more used carbide in 2014 than the previous year for its North American Carbide Recycling Program. The company received 350 returns during the year and processed a total of 144,877 pounds (65,715 kg) of used carbide tools.
Seco Tools, LLC in North America has appointed Robert Keenan as the company’s new president effective Jan. 1, 2015. Keenan will succeed current president Kurt Nordlund who will return to Seco Tools AB in Sweden as senior advisor on a global basis.
Seco recently released a new version of its workpiece material classification system (SMG) that makes it easier to understand the complicated interactions between cutting tools and workpiece materials during milling, turning and holemaking operations.
At IMTS 2014 in booth W-1564, Seco Tools, LLC will unveil several new milling, turning, threading and tool holding products that were developed with material advancements in mind, including a square shoulder cutter that enhances side-milling operations, a multi-edge system that meets the industry’s demand for narrow cutting-edge grooving and parting-off tools, an insert that provides high-performance threads in a single pass, and toolholders with special vibration damping capabilities.

Seco Tools, LLC has increased the experience and technical expertise of its product marketing team with the promotion of veteran employee Manfred Lenz from Senior Technical Specialist to Manager–Drilling Products, NAFTA.
SECO Tools recently appointed Simon Mailloux to the role of Lead Technical Specialist for Quebec. He is responsible for directing the sales activities and sales performance of assigned team members under the direction of the Regional Manager, Mac McGaughey.
