Delta Air Lines Orders up to 70 Bombardier CRJ900 NextGen Jetliners
Toronto, December 6 — Bombardier Aerospace announced that Delta Air Lines, Inc. of Atlanta, Georgia has placed a firm order for 40 CRJ900 NextGen regional jets and has taken options on an additional 30 CRJ900 NextGen aircraft.

Bombardier Aerospace announced earlier this week the appointment of Michele (Mike) Arcamone as President, Bombardier Commercial Aircraft effective February 1, 2012. Mr. Arcamone succeeds Gary R. Scott, who retired on October 1, 2011.

Bombardier Aerospace confirmed in late December that the U.S. Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) awarded aircraft type certification approval to the 100-seat CRJ1000 NextGen regional jet on December 17, 2010. U.S. approval follows type certification by Transport Canada and European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA), announced on November 10, 2010.
