Toronto, December 6 — Bombardier Aerospace announced that Delta Air Lines, Inc. of Atlanta, Georgia has placed a firm order for 40 CRJ900 NextGen regional jets and has taken options on an additional 30 CRJ900 NextGen aircraft.

Bombardier Aerospace announced earlier this week the appointment of Michele (Mike) Arcamone as President, Bombardier Commercial Aircraft effective February 1, 2012. Mr. Arcamone succeeds Gary R. Scott, who retired on October 1, 2011.
Bombardier Aerospace confirmed in late December that the U.S. Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) awarded aircraft type certification approval to the 100-seat CRJ1000 NextGen regional jet on December 17, 2010. U.S. approval follows type certification by Transport Canada and European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA), announced on November 10, 2010.

Bombardier Aerospace announced today that Korean Air, South Korea’s flagship airline, has signed an agreement to acquire 10 Bombardier CS300 aircraft with an additional 10 options and 10 purchase rights on CS300 airliners. The parties signed a Letter of Intent after several months of detailed negotiations.

On March 1st, Bombardier Aerospace announced the largest business aircraft sale in the company’s history with a firm order from NetJets Inc. for 50 Global business jets with options for an additional 70 Global aircraft. The transaction for the firm order is valued at approximately US$2.8 billion based on list prices. If all the options are exercised, the total value of the order will surpass US$6.7 billion, also based on list prices.
