The new iD Series wire EDM machines from FANUC have been completely redesigned from the ground up. The machines deliver superior cutting speeds, accuracy, and surface finishes all with the exceptional reliability for which FANUC is known. New iD Series machines feature a beefier, CAD-designed cast Meehanite base that is thermally insulated and 40% more rigid than previous models. Table travels were increased with no load overhang during table movement, providing high rigidity even for heavier workpieces. Heavy-duty 1.26 in. ball screws for the X and Y axes are double-anchored and encapsulated in bellows style covers to prevent contamination. Even the ball screws for the U and V axes are 0.79 in. in diameter.
