Laser welding system provides high speeds PDF Print E-mail
The new hybrid laser welding system from ESAB Welding and Cutting Products, Mississauga, ON is a mechanized laser welding system which utilizes laser only: laser with cold wire fill, or hybrid laser arc welding (HLAW) in a 2D gantry, 3D robotic or custom mechanized solution with closed-loop weld process control. HLAW combines the deep weld penetration and low heat input of laser welding with the power efficiency and superior gap tolerance of GMAW to create a new welding alternative. Adding GMAW with the laser, and adding a modest amount of  filler metal, creates a wider weld bead capable of bridging much larger weld gaps.

Wire produces clean weld deposit PDF Print E-mail

ESAB Welding & Cutting has introduced OK Autrod 13.20SC, a copper-coated low alloy wire for submerged arc welding. This wire is an EB3 submerged arc wire designed to weld creep-resistant steel of the 2.5% Cr-1% Mo type. When combined with ESAB's OK Flux 10.63, the wire produces a clean weld deposit with an X-factor less than 15 and a J-factor less than 120. This combination fulfills the stringent requirements for impact toughness after step-cooling treatment of the weld metal. The wire can also be used with other fluxes for applications not requiring step cooling treatment. OK Autrod 13.20SC is ideal for process piping, heat exchangers and pressure vessel fabrication applications.
