VMC optimizes aggressive cutting PDF Print E-mail
MAG Fadal’s VMC 6535HTX is a high-torque vertical machining center that optimizes aggressive cutting of titanium and hardened steel through use of a 50-taper, 6,000 rpm high-torque spindle (48 hp peak power, 441 ft-lbs peak torque) and air/oil lubrication.
The machine is designed for aerospace, automotive and other applications. Cutting rates are up to 600 ipm, with rapid travel rates up to 900 ipm. The 6535HTX is built with heavy-duty construction and provides a large work envelope (X/Y/Z travel) of 65 in. X 35 in. X 31 in. (1,651mm x 889 mm x 787mm). Flame-hardened box ways, including four on the base casting, support heavy, large workpiece applications, providing the rigidity and vibration damping required for higher performance. Double-mounted extra-large 63mm ball screws ensure accurate positioning for close-tolerance machining of massive parts
