Router cutters designed for high productivity PDF Print E-mail
Seco Tools Canada has introduced the new coated Aeromaster high productivity router cutters designed for slotting, square shoulder milling and pocketing operations in aluminum (Seco Material Group 16 and 17).
Machined from a hardened state, these tools offer minimal axial and radial runout, which is necessary for high-speed machining applications. In addition to being machined from hardened steel, the Aeromaster cutter body features a TiN (titanium nitrate) coating and an open flute design to aid in chip evacuation and prevent buildup on the cutter body. Available inserts are mirror-polished on the rake face to aid in chip flow and are available in all the most commonly used nose radii. The Aeromaster family offers two styles to choose from-the existing high productivity router is available with cylindrical shank, from 1.25 in. to 2 in., shell mill from 2 in. to 4 in. or a two-piece flexible Combimaster style from 1.25 in. to 1.5 in. Accompanying inserts are from the Seco VPGX 2206 designation and allow a .395 in. maximum depth of cut.
