 Sumitomo’s new SumiEdge Mill is a uniquely engineered 88º tangential style milling cutter, designed for gray and ductile cast iron applications.
Featuring an innovative cutter and insert design, the SumiEdge Mill
allows for the use of all eight cutting edges. First, by rotating the
LNMX insert within the pocket, the use of a total of four cutting edges
is achieved. Four more indexes can then be added by switching the
insert from one cutter to the next (using both left and right hand
cutters). The low cutting force and fine pitch design of the SumiEdge
Mill allow for higher production machining and exceptional surface
finishes. New ACK200 and ACK300 grades provide stable cutting
performance and a longer tool life.
