Coatings, substrates provide performance increases PDF Print E-mail
Widia has introduced a series of new coatings and substrates that has resulted in dramatic performance increases in excess of 50%.
In difficult to machine alloys, Widia offers the new TN6010 and TN6025 grades, each utilizing advanced PVD-TiAlN multilayered coatings on improved micrograin carbide substrates. The TN6010 grade performs exceptionally well in light machining, whereas TN6025 can be utilized in both light and medium machining applications. For grooving and drilling, Widia has introduced the new TN6030 grade, which also features a PVD-TiAlN multilayered coating, to be used with steels and nodular cast iron.  Recommended for medium cutting speeds, the TN6030 grade excels where good toughness properties are required.
