Lathe designed for machining shafts PDF Print E-mail
The new NZ-S1500 two-turret shaft lathe from Mori Seiki was created specifically to machine shafts. The footprint of the NZ-S1500 is less than half the previous models and measures just under five ft. in height.
The NZ-S1500 can accommodate workpieces with a maximum machining diameter of ø120 mm and a standard machining diameter of ø60~20 mm. A high-speed loader with a rotary hand function increases the efficiency of the machine. To increase productivity, the NZ-S1500 employs a symmetrical design in which the two turrets are aligned with the spindle, which is mounted on the vertical bed. This layout also serves to reduce the influence of heat and improve accuracy during continuous machining.
