Coating maintains low absorption rate |
American Torch Tip has introduced a new line of AR coating for their focusing lenses available for CO2 lasers. The coating maintains absorption rates as low as plus or minus .2%. The lowered absorption rate allows the lens to retain less heat which allows the optic to run cooler and reduce focal shift. The line is available in both Plano Convex and Meniscus style lenses for all focal sizes and edge thicknesses. attcusa.com

Laser system meets new requirements |
TRUMPF has introduced the TruPulse laser in response to the increasing requirements users have placed on the laser’s capabilities. The TruPulse laser series features several technical innovations. The burst function allows the average power to be briefly exceeded and increases the pulse frequency thereby reducing the welding cycle. Quasi-continuous seam welds are possible with longer pulses of up to 50 milliseconds. The finely tuned product range is based on a modular power supply structure. The new TruPulse solid-state laser’s average power ranges from 20 to 150 watts at a maximum pulse power of up to 10 kilowatts. Within this range, beam qualities of 4 to 25 mm mrad are possible. afmcanada.com

Networked solution drives laser cutting productivity |
The e-Tower from Mazak Optonics is a PC-based networked solution that provides technical data and management tools, which are used to generate increased green light uptime and more efficient production flow. A single e-Tower can support up to four laser machines. The e-Tower is located in its own console adjacent to the machine and is networked to the PREview CNC control. A fully equipped PC is resident containing 15 in. monitor, Windows XP operating system, mouse keyboard, LAN port, and modem port. It supports Ethernet protocol for factory networking and video camera monitoring of cutting operations. mazakoptonics.com
