 Mazak Optonics’ Hyper Turbo-X laser system is designed for high-speed cutting of 2D parts up to one in. thickness in steel.
This laser system offers unique capabilities to improve part precision
and finish, reduce setup time, and automatically perform secondary
operations, which slash costs and lead-time. At its foundation, the HTX
features the Takumi frame. Unlike cast beds with open areas that reduce
stiffness, the Takumi frame is an enclosed box-frame design
throughout. Moreover, the Takumi principal of tabbed laser-cut sides
and cross-members, connected with a series of tie rods, results in an
amazing vibration dampening effect from internal and external sources.
Smooth acceleration and a top traverse rate of 1,969 ipm are
accomplished through non-contact linear motors, which both drive and
guide the axis motions on a thin film of air.
