The Nexus HCN 4000-II from Mazak delivers the power of larger horizontal machining centers with increased speed and acceleration in a 15.7 in. square pallet configuration.
Key specifications include a 40 hp, #40 taper spindle with 18,000 rpm
top speed, reached in 1.9 seconds. Maximum cutting and traverse rate is
2,362 ipm per axis at 0.8 G acceleration (1.0 G optional). The HCN
4000-II makes fast work of smaller part production. The machine’s
quickness is due in part to a 64-bit CPU inside the new Mazatrol Nexus
Matrix CNC. Feedrates for cutting complex part geometries are two times
faster than the previous-generation CNC. Maximum program size is 2MB,
with 8MB optional. Nexus HCN 4000-II machine travels are 22 in. (X),
24.8 in. (Y), and 25.2 in. (Z). Forty tool pockets are standard with
options of 60, 80, 120, and 160 tools for maximum flexibility and tool
redundancy in production environments.
