Tools feature tangentially clamped inserts PDF Print E-mail

ISCAR has introduced a new family of milling tools that use tangentially clamped inserts with four helical, 8 mm long cutting edges.

The T490 LNMX 0804 PN-N inserts, due to their small size and tangential orientation in the pocket, enable tool design with larger core diameters than tools with regular, radially oriented inserts. In the first stage, ISCAR will introduce the T490 E90LN family of endmills. The smallest tool diameter is 16 mm, with 2 inserts. The largest is 40 mm diameter. The tools are available with coarse or fine pitch configuration for each diameter. All of the tools have coolant holes. The T490 E90LN endmills can be used for machining 90° shoulders at high rates, with no mismatch.
