Starrett Co. has introduced the Galileo EZ, an affordable, compact manual vision system featuring live video camera feed and automatic edge detection via the new Metronics QC300 digital readout, high quality optics and more. The Galileo EZ is an ideal video based measurement solution for general purpose quality assurance inspection, manufacturing and research and development non-contact measurement applications. The Galileo EZ features a precision mechanical bearing with an (X-Y-Z) measuring stage of 8 in. x 4 in. x 6 in. (200x100x150mm) or 12 in. x6 in. x5 in. (300x150x125mm), 6 to 1 zoom video optics, a dual-output 150 watt fiber-optic illumination for the fiber-optic ring light and collimated substage light.

Entry-level CMM line expanded |

 Carl Zeiss has expanded its offering of entry level scanning technology machines with the introduction of the new CONTURA G2 direkt CMM. With CONTURA G2 direkt, Carl Zeiss now offers three CONTURA models: CONTURA G2 direkt, CONTURA G2 RDS and CONTURA G2 aktiv. CONTURA G2 direkt employs the VAST XXT scanning sensor which is designed for measurements on small parts with normal, squared geometries. These parts are usually generated by boring and milling centers in 2.5 or 3D processes. In general, a small single stylus or star stylus is sufficient. The VAST XXT scanning sensor enables measurements of geometry, form and position. Users often do not need special form measuring machines. Plastic and metal parts can also be measured.

 FARO Technologies,has released the FARO PowerGAGE-a new measurement device that adds CAD-to-part analysis capability to its FARO Gage product line.
The PowerGAGE is different from its FARO Gage and Gage-PLUS counterparts in that it can perform CAD-to-part analysis. Whereas the FaroArm enables users to reverse engineer and use more than 60 different software platforms, the PowerGAGE runs exclusively on a version of Delcam’s PowerINSPECT software. When equipped with both of PowerINSPECT's Programmer and Play-Only modules, PowerGAGE users can: create inspection programs/routines offline for anyone in the facility to run; import all major industry CAD formats; perform surface inspection against master CAD files; and more.
