 Carl Zeiss has expanded its offering of entry level scanning technology machines with the introduction of the new CONTURA G2 direkt CMM. With CONTURA G2 direkt, Carl Zeiss now offers three CONTURA models: CONTURA G2 direkt, CONTURA G2 RDS and CONTURA G2 aktiv. CONTURA G2 direkt employs the VAST XXT scanning sensor which is designed for measurements on small parts with normal, squared geometries. These parts are usually generated by boring and milling centers in 2.5 or 3D processes. In general, a small single stylus or star stylus is sufficient. The VAST XXT scanning sensor enables measurements of geometry, form and position. Users often do not need special form measuring machines. Plastic and metal parts can also be measured.
