Carl Zeiss has introduced CALYPSO 4.6, a new version of the CAD-based measuring software. CALYPSO improves combined optical and contact measuring with multi-sensor applications. For users, this primarily means additional time savings coupled with even more reliable, error-free measuring: whether contact or optical measuring, scanning or single-point measuring. CALYPSO combines several measurement strategies per geometric element in a single measurement plan, which can be optionally executed. Contact and optical measuring methods complement each other ideally with many workpieces. Carl Zeiss took this into account with the introduction of MASS Technology (Multiple Application Sensor System).

Probe change rack now standard |

 Xspect Solutions has announced it has made the probe change rack with the associated OpenDMIS change rack software a standard feature with any new Wenzel CMM configured with a Renishaw PH10 motorized probe head together with a Renishaw Touch (TP20/TP200) or scanning probe (SP25). According to the company, traditionally, probe change racks have been expensive options and typically outside the budget for most CMM customers.

A motorized heavy-duty dual rotary indexer allows SmartScope Quest sensors to measure features anywhere on the most complex parts. OGP MeasureMind metrology software supports simultaneous five-axis motion, keeping the coordinate system aligned with the rotating part. This automatic system accurately measures complex parts such as turbine blades, vanes, and airfoils. Quest 650 features high-speed linear motors, a large working volume, and support of video, touch probes, laser scanners, and micro-probes.
