Available in brazed tip or solid inserts, CBN60K can help reduce tool inventory as well as provide 20-30% more tool life than today’s best grades.

CBN60K performs best in speed ranges from 425-825 SPFM, with feeds of 0.004"-0.016" IPR and a typical finishing depth of cut of 0.006". It can be used with or without coolant in continuous or light interrupted cuts.
There are numerous features which contribute to CBN60K’s performance level, including its carefully tailored substrate comprised of small (micron sized) cBN particles with a unique particle distribution, providing increased tool life and consistency coupled with excellent component surface finish. Additionally, the new multi-layer K coating in conjunction with special pre-coating treatments and unique PVD techniques has enhanced the product performance to a level not previously achieved by other grades.

CBN060K also incorporates the world’s first superalloy binder consisting of both the superalloy and TiCN, which improve the mechanical properties without compromising wear resistance. The enhanced product toughness offered by a superalloy binder provides you greater cutting edge reliability and tool life as well as the ability to machine at higher cutting speeds. And, lastly, an optimized cutting edge promotes reliable machining.
