Modular tap for cast materials

The new XCHANGE modular tap from LMT Fette is a combination of a solid carbide cutting head and a steel shank using a patented interface connection. The carbide head of the tap is screwed onto the shank and can be easily replaced by users when it becomes worn.
The cutting speed in grey cast iron up to 200 sfm.
The new taps with coolant through (radial + axial) are available in the sizes M8 to M18.
A newly developed multilayer hard coating (“Polaris”) will also improve the tool life.
