Surrey, BC — Metal Action Machining Ltd. (the CNC Division of Analytic Systems) announced late last week that they have been certified to the International Standards Organization (Certificate number AS-1197), Aerospace AS9100 Quality Management System.
Cincinnati Incorporated announces the appointment of Elliott Matsuura Canada, Inc. as the exclusive distributor of Cincinnati press brakes, shears and laser cutting systems throughout Canada. Oakville, Ontario-based Elliott Matsuura has had exclusive distribution rights for Cincinnati machine tools in the six Eastern Canadian provinces for the past three years. The new agreement expands the distribution rights to the four Western provinces and, effectively, all of Canada.
 Huron Canada Inc. opened their new Canadian headquarters at 408 Isabey, St-Laurent, QC on Thursday December 8th. Over 100 customers and prospects attended all day seminars and technical demonstrations in Huron's new training center and showrooms. The Thomas Skinner Open House held December 8, 2011, at the company's Vancouver branch, was a great success, according to both the company and its customers. “We had the best turnout in years,” said Don Babineau, Thomas Skinner VP of Operations. “Our high-tech machines running quality demos really helped show off the capabilities of each machine we had on our floor to our 300 attendees. From the presentation of our machines and suppliers, to our BBQ steak/chicken/pork feast, it was a phenomenal day.” On Thursday, December 1st, the Canadian Machine Tool Distributors’ Association held its 69th Annual General Meeting at the Woodbridge Country Club, in Woodbridge, Ont. Frank Haydar, the new President of the Association, gave the 60-plus attendees positive news of the industry’s year.
At Mazak Corporation's recent Tomorrow's Technology Today, or T3 event, held at the company's Florence, KY, headquarters, company president Brian Papke shared an inspiringly positive view of the current manufacturing landscape in North America.
