Lamiera shows off an industry in fine form, despite European economics
As editor of MP&P, I had the opportunity to visit Italy recently as part of a press delegation that took us to Lamiera, Italy's premiere metalforming trade show. There, I had the opportunity to talk to many industry leaders and discuss their concerns and the focus of their business. Here are the highlights.

Demonstrate that you can innovate, and you will succeed. That seemed to be the message during the 16th edition of metal forming exhibition Lamiera, in Bologna, Italy, May 9-12th. Italian machine tool companies show their mettle
The Italian machine tool industry has seen double-digit growth in the past couple of years, and expects to have a solid 2012 also. At the recent Lamiera show in Bologna, Italy, Luigi Galdabini, VP of the machine tool trade association UCIMU - Sistemi per produrre, explained to journalists what he considers the reason for this success, and what he is hearing from clients about their needs.
